2024 Annual Report

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul – Ascension Conference remains deeply thankful for the continued generosity of our parish community and partner schools. In 2024, your support enabled us to respond to a rapidly growing level of need within our community, as many individuals and families faced increased financial hardship due to rising food prices and overall cost-of-living pressures.

This past year marked a period of both challenge and growth. Requests for assistance rose sharply, requiring us to expand our outreach and increase the number of food hampers delivered to those in need. At the same time, we strengthened our collaboration with local schools and welcomed new volunteers, whose commitment has been essential in meeting this demand.

2024 also represented an important milestone for our Conference with the launch of our first fundraising dinner. This new initiative was a significant success and reflects the strong support of our parish community for the mission of SSVP. Events such as this will play a vital role in sustaining our ability to serve our neighbours in the years ahead.

2024 Highlights:

• Food Hamper Deliveries: 661 hampers delivered, representing a 56.26% increase over 2023

• People Assisted: 2,400 individuals supported, a 54.64% increase over 2023

• Angel Tree Program: 70 Christmas gift hampers delivered, bringing joy to 118 adults and 187 children

We extend our sincere thanks to all who contributed through donations, fundraising efforts, and volunteer service. A special word of appreciation goes to our dedicated volunteers, whose compassion and generosity of time make this work possible.
